Ski Touring with Penguins, Snow Leopards and Kiwis by Mark Sedon

De NKBV regio Amsterdam organiseert samen met de ASAC een lezing met Mark Sedon als spreker:

Come and see a slide show from one of New Zealand’s most prolific ski tourers. From ski touring in his backyard of NZ’s Southern Alps, to many winters skiing in remote Kashmir in Northern India, then on to ski touring and kite skiing in Antarctica…. Mark is a skier and a well-respected professional ski guide. He is a humble character with a calm nature and a passion for powder snow.

During his adventure filled career Mark has accumulated an eclectic logbook of achievements and expeditions. An example is he was the first person to climb and ski all 18 mountains over 2,500m in the Queenstown Lakes District of NZ which included several first ski descents. Mark has also enjoyed 12 ski touring and climbing expeditions to Antarctica and captured his most recent expedition to climb The Spectre mountain in an epic 55 day, 2,000km kite ski and climbing trip to the Gothic Range of the Transantarctic Mountains.

Mark lives in Lake Hawea, near Wanaka in the South Island of New Zealand. In his spare time you will find him climbing the hills to paraglide home, kitesurfing, on his bike or taking photos, filming or writing to capture this adventurous lifestyle.
Come see a colourful 1hr show of ski touring with penguins, snow Leopards and kiwis…
