ASAC Winterweek 6-13 Maart 2027
Now that it is slowly getting colder and the last ASAC weekends are almost behind us, it is time to let the winter mountaineer in you come out! This year, the ASAC will go on winterweek again! This week is intended for both touring and piste skiers and will take place from 6 to 13 March in Badhofgastein, Austria. Imagine a week filled with snow-covered trees, aperol spritz, off-season short lift lines and an amazing gezellig chalet, where we will cook, drink and chill together in a magical winter wonderland. and all that for a very cheap price!
Piste skiing:
It is not a course week, and is therefore you need to be able to get down pistes independently. The closest ski area is badhofgastein and contains 90 km of piste of which 30% blue, 56% red, and 14% black. Additionally its an option to drive a bit further and go to kaprun (gletscher area with guaranteed snow), zell am see, or saalbach hinterglemm.
Tourskiing:
If you are considering tourskiing please consider that there are no instructors or guides present. It is recommandable to have done a T1/T2 course of the NSAC or similar experience. Consider your own knowledge, experience and fitness and those of others. We repeat: There will be no guide or alpine instructor present so participation is entirely at your own risk.
There are a lot of tours in the valley of chalet which are north facing and start relatively high. In addtion to that you can drive into the rauris valley whihc has guaranteed snowcover or even drive a bit further and try an attempt at the grosvenediger.
Food and drinks
We will arrange dinner and breakfast! We will cook together, so everyone is expected to pitch in. You will need to bring your own lunch, snacks and food for trips, at your own expense. Dinner will be vegetarian with a vegan option. If you have any allergies or dietary requirements, please let the committee know in advance so we can take this into account.
Costs
The winter week will cost between €270 and €340. This amount includes accommodation and food. All other costs, such as transport, equipment hire and ski passes, are not included.
Registration and cancellations
Registration is now open! The 6th of december we have to make a financial commitment so it would be lovely if you could register beforehand if you already know you want to join! There will be an early bird discount of 20 euros!
If you cancel and no replacement can be found, you will have to pay a part of the expected costs:
Before 6 december: nothing
Between 6 december-6 februari: 50%
After 6 februari: All costs made till then
